Homemade Gift Ideas for the holidays
Homemade Gift Ideas
Cookies – Who doesn’t like cookies. You could make a batch of good ole fashioned chocolate chip or do something more festive like decorating sugar cookies. You can get your children involved in this holiday tradition.
Pumpkin or Banana bread – Bread loaves are extremely easy to make and come in handy on those busy days when you need something fast and delicious to eat. Wrap you loaves in colored saran wrap like red or green and tie a big bow on them. Voila!
Photo Album – Make a photo album for a friend or loved one. If someone you know has recently been on a vacation, get copies of the photos (off facebook is a great way) and make a photo album of their adventure. Small photo albums can run you as little as a couple dollars.
Scrap Book – For your child who is in sports, create a scrap book with your child’s newspaper clippings, award ribbons, letters and cards, pictures, and more! Don’t fill up the book so that they can add to it as the years go on.
Coupon Book For Services – Make a coupon book for you husband or wife. Include such coupons as “Good for one massage” or “good for one car wash”. Who wouldn’t love to receive a gift of pampering and favors!
Dried Herbs in Olive Oil – This is extremely easy. You can buy clear glass bottles with a cap at any craft store. Add olive oil and any dried herbs or vegetables like rosemary, basil, thyme, garlic, chili peppers, etc. An easy and decorative gift.
Fleece Blankets – Go to any local fabric store and pick out a fleece fabric in a color or pattern you like. Cut to a square and fringe the edges. Super Easy! Google “Make homemade fleece blankets” and you can see pictures of how easy it is.
Letters from Santa – You can make this at home on your computer or order one online for very inexpensive. I ordered a personalized <a rel=”nofollow” onclick=”javascript:_gaq.push(['_trackPageview', '/outgoing/article_exit_link']);” href=”http://www.originalsantamail.com”> Letter from Santa </a> for my daughter and she didn’t set it down for days. Only .
Movie Time Gift Basket – Buy an empty wicker basket and fill it with fun movie treats like cheddar popcorn, Twizzlers, chocolate, beef jerky, and maybe some unusual sodas. The sky is the limit on this.
Fudge – What is your favorite flavor? Chocolate? Peanut Butter? Smores? Another easy and delicious gift. You can wrap in colored boxes or cut into pieces and put in small cellophane gift bags.
Hope this helps!
My family is my inspiration. I hope that people remember the real message of Christmas and share that with their children. Religious or not, the meaning is clear…love, friendship and sharing our hearts. Santa Letter Letter From Santa Santa Letters
